Use the Raise Claim button at the top of this page. Choose Crop, give the mobile number registered on your policy, then describe the damage - the crop, the peril, when it happened and how much area is affected. Our claims team calls you back to verify the policy and collect your documents.You can also intimate a crop claim over the phone on 1800 572 3013 (toll-free), Mon-Sat, 9AM-6PM.

What documents do I need to submit for a claim?

It depends on the product and on what happened. The 'Claim Documents Required for Processing' section above lists what to keep ready for each of our products. In every case you will need the policy number, photographs or records of the loss, an ID proof and the bank details the settlement should be paid into.You do not need to have everything to hand to start - raise the intimation first, and the claims officer who calls you will tell you exactly what is needed.

How long does it take to process a crop insurance claim?

A crop claim is assessed after a survey of the affected area, so the time depends on the peril, the season and the scheme the policy was sold under. Claims under government schemes such as PMFBY follow the timelines set in the scheme's operational guidelines.Once your claim is registered you get a claim number, and our team can tell you where it has reached at any point on 1800 572 3013.

Can I file a claim before harvest?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Standing-crop losses - flood, hailstorm, an animal attack, a pest attack - are intimated as soon as you notice the damage, not at harvest. Intimating early matters: the crop has to be surveyed while the damage is still visible in the field.Post-harvest losses to a harvested crop left to dry in the field are also covered on some products, within the period the policy allows.

Four things, in order:A claims officer calls you to verify the policy and the loss.You are told which documents to send, and how.The claim is registered and you get a claim number.A surveyor assesses the loss, and the settlement is paid into the bank account on record.

Our claims team takes claims over the phone on 1800 572 3013 (toll-free), Mon-Sat, 9AM-6PM, and by email at info@kshema.co.Somebody else can also file on your behalf - choose 'Other Person' under 'Claim Intimated By' on the form and give their name, mobile number and relationship to you.
